On February 26, 2011, the inaugural meeting of offshore engineering and shipping information technology application industry alliance of Jiangsu province was held. The alliance aims to improve the IT application level and local supporting capacity of information systems and softwares in shipping and offshore engineering enterprises, furtherly enhance induatrial competitiveness, achieve fast change from “a large shipping industry province” to “a strong shipping industry province”.

On the meeting, 702 institute of CSIC was elected as the secretary-general unit, Guorui Group and Jiangsu Rongsheng Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. were nominated as deputy-secreatry-general unit. The alliance puts forward proposal that, through sincere cooperation, they make advantage of complementary resources, perfect industrial supporting, push forward application of domestic shipping electronic products and information technology, improve core competitiveness of Jiangsu offshore engineering and shipping industry.

It is known that, as a large shipbuilding province, the total production capacity of shipbuilding in Jiangsu province breaks through 20 million tons in 2010, keeping at the nation’s top 1^st, at the meantime, it’s also a large province in electronic information industry, manufacture industry of electronic information products and software services repectively takes the 2^nd and the 3^rd of China.(Translation)
